The latest thing is an attempt to stop internet gambling. As stated in most newspapers, this is a naked attempt by a Republican Senator to appeal to the conservative/Christian vote. If you don't like gambling, don't do it, but it's absurd to try to legistlate morality like this. It seems that all stupid, crazy legistlation is done to appeal to Christian/Conservative voters. Making gay marriage illegal, making flag-burning illegal, making gambling illegal, it's all so silly! Why can't they just mind their own business and let people live their own lives? Why is the only personal freedom they care about the freedom to own machine guns with armor-piercing bullets? WHY?

Three things:

1) Since when are Christians non-violent, nativeamerican1968? What about the Crusades, the Inquisition, what happened during the reformation, the burning of "witches", the fact that the Nazis incorporated Christian artwork into their propaganda (especially the fact that Jews killed Jesus), the bombings of Abortion clinics, and the assaults and murders of homosexuals? Are you excluding that in your conclusion that most are non-violent? If so, then I guess you're right.

2) I do not see how anything Jeebus said was whining. Text cannot have a tone of voice, so the only definition that could possibly apply is that he complained or protested in a childish manner. I've never met a child with such a high grasp of the current political motives in new legislation...have you? If we are going to talk about childish, nativeamerican1968, then we should definitely address your grammar, punctuation and use of "fyi".

3) So, namsaev, you believe that violence is acceptable as long as you're doing it in the spirits of standing up for the "integrity" of this country because someone is upset with something about our great nation. So not only should they be forced to leave if they disagree with our government, but their right to not be assaulted should be revoked as well?

Gambling brings a lot of money into a town and I bet those Republicans hit Vegas for vacation . If we are lucky Larry Flint will dig up some good dirt on em . If they ever outlaw abortion the conservatives better make sure they don't forget those condoms and when the are in the closet they had better use em then too!

fyi...most all of todays Christians are nonviolent, in general are not interested in machine guns and armor piercing bullets...those would be seperatists and criminals. The thing is that 1. you have freedom of speech and 2. if u dont like or agree with a law or piece of legislation, you HAVE the FREEDOM to b*tch, gripe and fight it to make change....No matter who you are, there are gonna be law sthat you dont agree with and some you down right hate. The reason that conservatives can do so much is that they are well organized and well established......you can effect change...organize and fight for what you believe in instead of whining about the injustice of it all.

Let's take that gambling for instance. If you want to do it fine. If you go broke don't come to me expecting help for your stupidity.

You want to have sex with someone the same gender you are because you have been convinced it's normal. Go right ahead. But don't expect me to agree with you. I'll tolerate you in public therefore I will just ignore you. I wont call you names or throw rocks at you.

You want to call the President an idiot and an assortment of other names go right on. Presidents change periodically. you want to say the government sucks. I may even agree with you. That's freedom of speech.

But for 22 years I've defended what that flag you want to burn stands for, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Now if you don't want life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness here? Go someplace else. But you try and burn the flag in my presence and you have better hope I don't have a can of charcoal starter handy. If you want to burn MY flag and call it free speech. I'll talk to you with my charcoal starter. Afterwards we can discuss the difference between free speech and burning.

It's our mission in life to ruin other people's fun - that's how we have fun. Why are you questioning how we have fun?
