That Zidane wanted a little attention on his last day on the field, that's what.
Do you know how many times players insult one another on the field by brining up family members???? My brothers play soccer and they hear it all the time. sheesh.
I'm not saying it's right, and instead of being the better man, Zidane stooped down and did even worse.

This, by no means, clears Materazzi and makes him a great guy. He is a weasel and unnecessarily insulted someone's family (a family that is having a difficult time). This offense alone is enough for a sending off for Materazzi as per the FIFA Code of Conduct: "6. uses offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures ".
So, regardless of WHAT Materazzi said, it still makes him a lowlife thug and the real villain of an otherwise great game.

all i said was that what was said only Zidane and Materazzi will only know what was said... and for all this RACIST stuff it has been getting worst and worst every year and I'm getting tired about hearing all this ****..we are the fans and we make the game football what it is and we as football fans that ***** about the game and the refs when your team loses we sound like idiots and making the game look bad and the game will get a bad name if us fans keep at it like this, cause the game is all about the fans we say good stuff about it the game will be great and if we say bad **** about the game we make the game look bad so just stop crying about it if your team goes out because we are not the ones on the field playing...

I'm not an idiot. Materazzi made racist remarks according to many neutral lip readers. Zidane is too classy to repeat them and wants to prevent any violent backlash.

What Materazzi said and did is still a violation of FIFA rules as it describes contemptuous acts. The rule applies not just to discrimination, it applies to discriminatory or contemptuous acts. Read it for yourself and watch the gloating.
Par. 4: If any player, association or club official or spectator perpetrates any kind of discriminatory or contemptuous act as described by par. 1 and/or 2 of this article, three points will automatically be deducted from the team concerned, if identifiable, after the first offence. In the case of a second offence, six points will automatically be deducted, and for a
further offence, the team will be relegated. In the case of matches without points, the team concerned, if identifiable, will be disqualified.

Materazzi is an ignorant basturd anyway.
"I don't know what an Islamic terrorist is".
Has he been living in a box? What is that? Either he's the dumbest person alive or a liar.
I say both.

People thought that Materazzi began, of course, but we didn't know first it was that bad! Yeah, I would probably be calm and steady if someone's calling names at me and my mother... NOT!
