Because we are putting an infrastructure in place, succeeding in training the Iraqi army, put together a government, killed the top terrorist leader in Iraq and found intel that revealed low morale, high casualties, and failures of the terrorist groups. Total casualties for the US and allies is close to 2800 people. It is certainly sad that people have died, but that is an incredibly low number for taking over a country and fighting an insurgency.

Did you realize that car accidents kill an estimated 1.2 million people worldwide each year, and injure about forty times this number?
We have lost some very good soldiers, but I will tell you - more people die every year from other things like killings right here in the USA!
Its sad about the death of our soldiers, but they are fighting a war in Iraq against people who would kill you in a heart beat... be proud that our president is standing up and fighting so others like yourself can be safe.

No politician will ever speak from the point of view of a loser. They will never admit defeat. That is the nature of politics: to look superior at all times. Whether or not we are winning or losing in Iraq, I can't speak to.

Because he is a babbling idiot who at this point in his presidential career would not dare admit to failure. Perhaps if one or both of his daughters were lying in one of those bags, he would have to come to the realization that this so-called war was a mistake!
