Intuitions play a very important part in a person's life. I am just curious to know what you think about it.

Instinct, intuition, knowledge, experience, guide me in decision making. The more a person learns the better that person should function. Being tempted is one thing, knowing better is another. Plain old gut feeling is usually right. Self-preservation is what instinct/intuition is ultimately all about.

Intuition is to mind as action is to heart.
Intuition sometimes proves not so good as mi experience shows and action by heart may prove to be so in the long run. But there are exceptions also.
Consider this: You are going to attend an interview for a job that you have been preparing so hard for weeks. On you way to the venue of interview that day, you come across a tragic road accident and actually they want you carry the injured to the hospital and look after. What would you do? Miss the interview and help? Or turn your head and rather go attend the interview? Such are the examples...which normally pose up with challenging scenarios and answers. If you turn around your head the other way and decide to go for your interview, you think you'd be able to concentrate in your replies and would you do well? It takes some time and a lot of understanding from us to analyse the whole thing. Its a good question that sets me thinking too whether i will let myself guided by my intuition!
Thank you.

Yes, I use my intuition pretty often. Because being a student in a domain that needs a lot of logic, I've learned that it is impossible not to use intuition.
I think it's more about letting go the fear of failing. I know that was my case, because I had a time when I just refused to choose anything based on intuition. I feared failing, I feared chosing the wrong thing and so I never chose anything without a lot of thinking. But it's not always succes.
I think it's a very positive thing to let yourself be guided by intuition.

I have learned over the years the importance of intuition. I have ignored it and suffered the consequences. One example is a friend who I loved was murdered. Out of no where I had the urge to call him I even pick up the phone but hung up. I hadnt talk to him in about a year.I thought why would I call him thats just silly. a week later he was murdered. I had the chance to see him one last time, to say good bye and I missed it. A regret I will carry for the rest of my life. My intution has gotten stronger over the years. It becomes more clear as you become intuned with yourself. I believe that happens over time and experience. I have these feelings that are strong that are separate from my own if that makes sense. I say it's my spirit.Everybody has this. Its a gift, a tug,a warning, a caution built in our soul.

My intuition predicted certain events 3 times in my life. I did not pay attention to it. So the effect was negative. However, if you do listen to intuition, it can have positive effects as well.

The 3 times I had intuition:

1.) In high school, one night I had an overwhelming feeling that a friend of mine was in some kind of trouble. Sure enough, the very next day I found out that she ran away from home.

2.) In college, I had a feeling that something really bad was going to happen. Something made me want to go visit a friend. Since I had a really bad fight with that friend just a few weeks before and was on non-speaking terms, I did not go. I kept thinking "It's just my conscience making me feel guilty and getting the better of my imagination." A few days later, I received news that my friend killed himself.

3.) Recently, I had the feeling that I could possibly be pregnant although I showed no symptoms. I kept wanting to calm my nerves by getting the home pregnancy test done, but never did it. I kept telling myself "Why disappoint myself? I've been trying for 3 years with no luck. So there is no way that this could be possible." At the next doctor appointment, I found out that I was indeed pregnant. A few weeks later, I lost the baby.

I regret not following my intuition at least for the last 2 times it happened. I probably could have saved the 2 most important lives that have touched my soul.

2 examples of positive impact of following your intuition:

1.) A friend of mine lost his job. He had to move out of state to stay with a relative. He was ready to give up and leave hte country for good. My husband had a hnch that soemthing good will happen. We asked him to stay with us and give it one last shot. After about a week, he got multiple interviews and got a contract job for a well-reputed comapny. A month later, he was given the full-time job. That was about 4 years ago. Now he is successful in his career. :-)

2.) Similar situation, another friend moved in with us to look for a job. He was a stranger to us as we never knew him - a friend of a friend. After 3 months of staying with us, he decided to give up and move back. He had bought his non-refundable ticekt to NY. One night, my husband asked him to just stay a week more. We offered to reimburse the cost of his ticket if nothing good happens. Very next day, he got a job offer - the same day as his flight. Now he is well settled. :-)

So my advice is, if your intuition tells you something. Pay attention to it and act accordingly. You never know what good it will do or what misfortune will be prevented.

When you have intuition, 2 things happen:

1.) You get a feeling that something is going to happen.
2.) Immediately after, you think "no, that is not possible".

I use my intuition to make a lot of decisions, actually. I find that if you think too much, it's hard to make decisions because you're worried about logic or if it's right or wrong.

Intuition is like instinct and if it's has gotten our ancestors this far, it must be pretty good!
