For some games, but for others with out the code it would be damn near impossible to complete the game, for example GTA Vice City. The very end mission would be impossible with out the cheats.

They can be, it all depends on how you use them. You can use them every time that you play and never get to experience the game to it's fullest, that would be a party pooper I guess. You could also use them to get past a level that you can't get past otherwise. There are also cheat codes that change the game play, sometimes to make it more challenging. This allows you to play an older game in a new way. (wow I'm starting to sound like a game ad...)
That's just my opinion.

It really depends. I think they help you more then they hurt. Cheats are different then hints. I like hints better because it doesn't give the game player the exact cheat code, but it's more of a guide.

I don't know if you've heard or played the game Myst before, but that game can be very challenging. Each level you must break codes/ and or find things to help you break secret messages. It's easier to look for hints to help you get through some of the levels. So all in all, I believe codes can be helpful, but can also hinder you of learning anything for yourself

In a way I do: cheat codes seem to take the whole fun out of it. However, aren't there games so ridiculously difficult that you have to have a code to win? Overall, I don't like cheat codes all that much ... then again, using them at times sometimes results in something awesome... Good question!

Cheat codes are only acceptable after the game has been beaten and now you are just looking to get the most out of the gameplay and replay value. So stay away and enjoy the game the way it was made to be played.

I think if you jump right into the game using cheat codes, you might could say that....but after learning the game and wanting to see more.....it's probably a little more fun with the cheat codes....

Depends. Sometimes when playing a game and I get to a rediculously hard part I may say to myself, "I could do this without the cheat but then I'll have to try like 30 times. I get the point so lets get on with it".

Guys who play games, and worse, guys who talk about them, are definately party poopers. Whether or not they cheat is inconsequential.

personally I dont like them at all, spoils the games challenge. If you beat it then Its fun to add a new twist to the game for replay value.

Its usually harder to enter the combination of numbers than actually doing the level anyway LOL
