Hydrophobia is not a disease, it is a mental condition. If I were you, I'd consider a sponge bath if running water concerns you so much. Put the water in a basic and watch an area at a time, drying off afterward. This puts less water on y oru skin and may allow you to get more clean (and smell nice, too)

i don't know exactly what hydrophobia is but instead of getting in the shower or taking a bath, some people take what are called french baths: you just stand naked at your bathroom sink and use a little soap and water on a washcloth and spot wash and rinse and dry off as you go along.

i don't think its possible to take a shower without getting wet. does hydrophobia mean fear of water? that sounds like no fun.

Try basin bathing with a wash cloth instead. Cleanliness is important, but if you're afraid of running water, a shower isn't an option. Be kind to yourself, you're not alone--people don't CHOOSE phobias, they just get them and have to deal with them the best they can.

It's not a disease- it's a disorder. Maybe you can try washing yourself with a wet towel instead of leaping to a waterfall of a shower.

Can you take a hospital-style sponge bath, in which you take a sponge with soapy water, scrub one small section of your body at a time and rinse that section with a wet sponge to remove the soap, then quickly dry that section off, using as minimum amount of water as possible?

Try a wet, soaped up towel, uh sponge bath I guess that's called. There's also something called chemical showers I think, they use it in the army.

You can't that is the whole point of taking a shower, to get wet so you can wash the stink off yourself.

Do what the Romans did. Cover yourself in oil than scrape it off the skin with a dull blade to remove all the dead skin and grime.

Alternatively, get therapy and lots of deodorant.

The only think I can really suggest is seeing your doctor for some meds, and joining a support group. Are you scared of sponge baths?
