I would say no more than 20 hours per week. That leaves time for studies and some socializing, which is also a necessary part of student life. While I was in College, the student board recommended only 20 hours per week. Socializing, in College, is as much a learned skill as is classroom work. While in high school, I was only permitted 10-15 hours a week and not every week. Since I was planning on college, extracurricular activities were considered more important than work. Spare money was earned from chores and odd jobs on the weekends.

well probably around 18-20 and do like a couple hrs after school and most on weekends

It depends on the person.
I've seen people do full time and still not affect their studies.
