Minority just means there are less of a certain race than another in any given area. I don't care for the word. For years I've been told the Indian Americans (used to be called Native Americans) were a minority where I lived. I lived in the middle of the reservation! I was the minority...but I didn't recieve any special treatment. The word Minority should be taken out of the English language in my opinion. If we stop saying there's a difference between all the races, perhaps we'll stop acting like there is one. We're all equal.

I think you're confused. "Minority" refers to a group that is not the majority. African Americans are considered a minority in the US because they make up only 12% of the population. In China white people would be a minority. See?
