Why I am displayed as "provisional" in Yahoo Backgammon?

Other peoples ratings are displayed as points but my rating is just "provisional". Why is that?

in most yahoo games i've played you will remain provisional untill youve played 20 games, then you have a regular rating

Because you may have just started playing on the site. The more you play and the more you win- the higher your point score will be. The better the challenger that you defeat, will increase yor score quicker, that's why the better or higher score players don't want to play with a provisional player. Play with other provisional players, win and prosper.
