"C" is the correct answer (Total resistance decreases)

The light bulbs can be thought of as three resistors connected in parallel, and the formula to find the total resistance is ==>

Total resistance = 1 divided by (1/r1 + 1/r2 + 1/r3)

If we say that each light bulb ("resistor") has a resistance of 5 ohms then Total resistance = 1.666666666...ohms

I am an electrical engineer and the answer is C, the total Resistance in parallel is smaller then the smallest parallel resistance. Use this formula.

1 / R = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 + 1 / R3 +...

Hope this helps
If they are in series then the resistance adds up.

C is correct

100 ohms, 200 ohms and 300 ohms, all in a circuit in parallel. The total (parallel) resistance would be 1 / (1/100 + 1/200 + 1/300) or about 54.555 ohms.

The correct answer is 'C'.

The resistance would only rise by a little so I would say
E. resistance increases by a small amount

I'm an electrical engineer who's taken multiple classes on this and a semester of physics where they hammered this into out brain. It's c. If you plug in numbers for it you can see it decreases

My son told me the answer to this is D. I'll check back to see if he's right.

:)
