Yes and no. There's never much on the gay fiction shelf at my local Barnes and Noble or Borders, and as I travel in some parts of the country (Florida, for instance) there is even less.

But there are catalogs that offer up a lot more, and you can find them on-line.

I don't know whether there just aren't enough of us buying gay fiction (we buy straight fiction, but probably few straight people purchase gay fiction) to justify more shelf space in the big-box bookstores, or if there is a worry that if they have too much of it, the political right, disguised as a moral right, or Christian right will object.

I have an acquaintance who writes gay theme mysteriess and he's published 15 or so over the years. But they are hard to find. I also have a lesbian friend who introduced me to a lesbian author who writes tons of women's mysterie/adventure novels, but I've rarely seen her books on the local shelves.

I don't think there is enough gay fiction on the market. I think that is the reason I'm writing my own gay fiction story but my story is geared more towards the teen fiction side of things. If you don't like what you see on the shelves, go home and research some gay titles or authors.

No, there's not enough. I think there should a bigger range from romance to mystery. Most of the books I've read have only been mystery and erotica. But I've yet to find a good gay romance novel.

I have seen a couple of romance gay/lesbian novels in Books A Million and Barnes and Noble. I love to read no matter what the situation is, its the plot that I am in to.

If I may be so bold as to suggest trying to author one. That is normally the problem. No one want to do the work. IF you need a publisher may i recommend Chi Rho Press @ http://www.chirhopress.com/ Adam DeBaugh would be glad to publish any black gay fiction.

No, I think that there should be more creative minds spreading their thoughts and ideas. Luckily for us the world and market is becoming more receptive to the gay community and we'll have even more to look forward to.

Well, if you want more stories relating to you, then why don't you just go write some books? Makes sense, doesn't it?
