Please post a list of the world's governments that you believe would tolerate a cross-border attack, incursion, and abduction of its citizens, leaving aside for the moment the years of mass murders, rocket attacks, and so forth that Israel has also endured. Once you have that list together, we can debate specifically whether the governments that permit such things should be considered "evil" by the loved ones of its kidnapped citizens.
While the Israelis are sometimes prone to excess, there is no other nation that suffers the range and intensity of attacks that Israel does, and nations emphatically have an obligation to defend themselves and their citizens. Have the Israelis deliberately sought to maximize civilian casualties, or have the Arab terrorists? By their own pronouncements, it is the Arabs. I would be interested what substitute for logic could allow a person to think that conduct anything less than evil. Maybe you can post that along with your list of governments that welcome armed attacks?

Your question is very offending. In fact, it's so offending that it's ridiculous. I'm actually laughing right now. Evil is a very harsh way of putting things. Who are you? Someone whose son was killed by Israeli soldiers? Well, every person in Israel knows someone who was killed by palestinians. This is a two-way situation here! Why does the world think we're the evil ones? What have we done that is so terrible? Israel is trying to defend herelf! Our country is drowning and our only sin is trying to keep our head above the water.
Every other country in the world has the right to attack its enemies. Why doesn't Israel??
I suggest you research your sources and facts before you say such things.

Who can think that beside terrorist groups?
Israelis are beautiful people who just want to leave in peace.
They have giving so much to the Palestinian people but nothing is good enough, They want it all .
They have the most genius people on earth, the most developed country.
Not to forget it is a very tiny country that has all the world against them (beside US).
And yet this very tiny country is the focus of all media.
You got to give them credit for that.

I can think of many others that can top them. What makes you think they are so evil? North Korea and Iran seem to be in the running for the most evil government at the moment. Tomorrow, someone else will strive for that honor.

Ah no, and you must be a jackass for thinking so. I think they are a lot more tolerant than is necessary. If it were me in charge everytime the palestinians send suicide bombers or launch rockets or kidnap and murder jewish teenagers and soldiers I would invade 10 km and destroy everything palestinian in the path. So eventually 1 of 2 things would happen, or you get rid of the palestinians all together (which Israel is perfectly capable of doing) or the Palestinians eventually realize that for their survival they have to stop their desire for the destruction of Israel and really try to peacefully co exist with their neighbors.

Not me. They freakin gave Gaza to the Palestinians last summer, a major point of contention and a major move toward something that may resemble peace in a hundred years, and they still get attacked. So I would have to say the Palestinian gov't is worse than Israel.

Well, I understand the point you are trying to make, but I would caution against calling any other government "evil," lest we sound like our diplomatically challenged president. Nonetheless, our media and government does a very poor job at depicting the Palestinian viewpoint in the middle east conflict. Therefore, we cannot be surprised that so few Americans actually have an understanding of the challenges and adverse living conditions that Palestinians face on a daily basis. It is unfortunate, however, that so many of the answers to this question imply that you must be some kind of terrorist sympathizer in order to suggest that Israel is less than blameless in the conflict. It is like stating, an unfortunately so many people do, that because someone is Muslim he or she must be a terrorist. People are very quick to generalize and very slow to get the actual information and to try to view a situation from all perspectives.
Let me shed a little light on why it is that you might hold this view, and, again, I don't think that we should use such harsh language because I believe it undermines the power of diplomacy. Nonetheless, how many respondents to this question know anything about the historical origins of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? If you are not very educated on this crucial background, then it is, perhaps, not wise or becoming to rush to judgment. The Palestinian people have been oppressed for over 170 years, beginning with the Ottoman Empire who ruled this region in the early 19th century long before the establishment of an Israeli state. During its rule, the Ottoman Empire instituted “Tanzimat,” which was a series of laws spanning several decades that radically altered the structure of land ownership. These new laws usurped land ownership from Arab peasants (known as fellahin) and transferred it to wealthy land owners, bankers, business owners, and money lenders. These peasants, who formerly enjoyed a self-sufficient lifestyle were now forced to work as serfs on the land that they once owned.
After WWI, the British assumed temporary ownership of this land and supported establishing Palestine as a homeland for the Jews. In 1948, Israel claimed independence, thereby establishing its own state. Due to the formation of this state, 750,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes. Since then, they have been without a homeland. Israel occupies 77% of the territory that was partitioned to Palestine under the 1948 UN agreement. Since this time, Palestinians have been barred from traveling to work as many worked in regions now claimed by Israel. They have also been hindered from growing their own crops because Israel has captured much of the fertile lands suitable for harvesting. Roadblocks have prevented Palestinian farmers from getting to their land, which means that it could not be harvested or replanted for the following year. Much of this land, which was rendered useless, was assumed by Israelis and used to construct additional settlements.
In short, many Palestinians have been displaced from their homes and forced to live in abject poverty since the establishment of Israel in 1948. Meanwhile, Israel has enjoyed a flourishing economy and has strengthened their military such that it is ranked 23rd in the world according to the US Department of Defense. On the other hand, the Palestinians have no organized military. Much of the financial success of Israel can be attributed to the US who has been a major financial backer for decades. Since the US-Israel Free Trade Agreement of 1985, the US and Israel economies have become strategically interlinked as we depend on eachother for continued economic success. Therefore, it is no wonder that the US is not considered a credible external party to assist in peace talks.
I write all of this to point out that their are 2 sides to every story. Palestine is not totally faultless. As many Americans are aware, extremist groups have resorted to inconceivable acts of terrorism in support of their liberation agenda. Israel is not blameless either, as they control the economic well-being of the Palestinian people who are without a homeland of their own. They have used their military might to attack innocent civilians who have nothing to do with terrorist organizations. They have recently launched multiple attacks that have killed Palestinian women and children in order to force the release of ONE Israeli soldier. Meanwhile, they have thousands of Palestinian men and women imprisoned whom they refuse to release. The majority of people on both sides want peace. This peace can only come, however, through an even-handed approach that recognizes the atrocities commited and hardships experienced by both sides.

No. If they back down then the Palestines will crush them. So look at it this way, they defend their country. If they stop fighting, there will be no more Israel. Israel does not have an evil government.

That's a great way to talk to people who have to be in fear of death all the time. They got the country fairly and they're under attack for terrorist and idiots like you. The fact is people like you can't leave them alone for five minutes. They have the right to defend themselves and rescue any of their people that are taken hostage by the terrorist that threaten them. All they want is their man back and that's it.
