Although we all have our prejudices, hate-based prejudices such as the ones you bring up are the most harmful. Especially when they are based on things we have no control over, such as race, sexual orientation and genetic disorders.

Amen brother. Couldn't have said it better. People from all over the world come to America and expect freedom and the people that have been living in this country all their lives still don't get it. I'm not gay myself, but have a lot of friends who are. Professionals, doctors lawyers babysitters. They are educated and they watch you;re children thay serve you at resturants and they give you legal help when you need it and most of all they are your bosses and employees. Eventually people will have no choice but to accept it. And by the way for the person that said something about what the biblle says. I am a greek and hebrew language professor and I have studied that bible through and through. And what you are reading is the King James version. Which is made up of a bunch of Kings men . Pompous arrogant men. That have no relation to the word of God directly. So what you read isn't more than opionated men giving you what they wanted their people to follow then. We are in 2006 and things that were legal and illegal then are no longer. Like beheading people and women covering their faces and not working on the sabbath. So maybe you should study your hebrew bible a little better before coming up with an opinion yourself. That is the true word of God. And to the latter comment being racist is no different it is all focused on being scared of what you don't know anything about. And thats what all discrimination is about. Scared little people with no self esteem

What studies are those exactly?
Lying doesn't exactly help your cause. Neither does insulting the people you need to convince to let you have your way.
Because homosexuals act inappropriately for the most part, most people simply dislike them and won't cooperate with them in any manner. WIth regard to the gay marriage issue, the problem is two fold. The first is a total lack of any interest in gay people living as married folk. The second is the rather obvious intention to tear down marriage itself as an institution.
The answer to that is, of course, hell no.
If gays were to change, things would be different. I don't see that happening any time soon. So, the answer still remains....hell no.

Because homosexual is not a race. That's how it's different.
Marriage is between a man and a woman. If two guys wanna pound each other in the fudge tunnel all night long, that's fine with me; as long as I don't have to see or hear about it. But that does NOT mean they should be legally allowed to get married.
Same goes for lesbians. If they want to be lovers for the rest of their lives, that's great for them, but that shouldn't mean marriage should be an option for them.
Guys and girls get married. That's the way it's always been and the way it will always be. This silly gay marriage fad that's going around will pass soon, once people start to realize just how immoral and wrong it is.

Good question. Racists hate people for who those people are on the outside. A racist hates a person's "paint job". A homophobe hates people for being who they are and wants people to act as though they are not who they are. Homophobes want gays to act like they are not gay, but a racist won't forgive someone for being the "wrong" color or nationality even if they act like someone from the "right" color or nationality. Both the racist and the homophobe are hateful bastards who will burn in hell later, though. Hope this clears up any confusion.

I'm preaching to the Choir, but here's my two cents:
It's definately no different from being sexist, trying to pass legislation based on gender. It definitely makes one a bigot.
BTW, the bible has NOTHING to say about lesbians. If someone's going to try & pass gender-specific laws based on scripture, they might as well just say that men can't marry men, but women can marry women.
Everyone I've met who had a problem with gays getting married changed their mind when they got to know a stable gay couple. Xenophobia: It stems from the same instincts as racism, anyway.

Until the definitive answer comes through that it is absolutely genetic, many will be against it... most feel it is a lifestyle choice, so they don't think it is like "racism"
The jury is still out, so it will be a few years before any major shift in thinking will take place...

do you believe every so called study you hear? i bet you believe in aliens as well! being gay is a lifestyle that you choose...think about it. you either CHOOSE key word:choose to have larry insert his "you know" into your "you know" and then spread disease and all the other waste products all over each other.
its a sick act and should be looked down upon now,and forever. they use to put people to death for this! says so i the Bible
and also they say sexual predators have some sort of chemical imbalance, but i bet you wont let them do what they want because its not their fault, huh?
let one baby sit your daughter and then when it happens you cant get mad.....its not his fault, remember?

To be racist you have to be against someone's race. LIke not liking colored people if you're white, or colored people not like caucasions. Gay is not a race, therefore you can not be racist if you're against gay marriages.

Well it has nothing to do with race. I would classify it as sexist personally. I also don't belief that homosexuality is genetic either; that doesn't make any sense.
