Surfing the web all you see is pictures of super skinny stars and that they are losing weight. Some of them look like skin covered skeletons with big hair. Is our society that shallow that they think everyone should look like that?

Beauty isn't measured in weight, size or anything else. Beauty is a conjectoral feeling that is different to everyone else. If one person doesn't find someone attractive doesn't mean they aren't, it just means that one person doesn't think they are. Society has become a judgmental community that has twisted the word beautiful into something that's wrong. So, in order to be beautiful the only requirement is being yourself because you will eventually find someone who loves you and finds you attractive for who you are, not who someone else tells you to be.

I personally think that is not attractive. I think being beautiful is not only on the outside but on the in. I am not as skinny after 3 kids as I use to be, but my husband assures me I am still beautiful.
It is wrong to say that you have to be super skinny in order to be beautiful. That is why there are so many teens and young adults with eating disorders. They can't get skinny enough. So sad.

Firstly, there is no "mainstream weight" that one must be to be considered beautiful... You're right about all of the stars becoming anorexic, and bulemic just to stay "beautiful". They are sick, and that is the truth... I am 5'1" and weigh 105 lbs, and am not nearly that thin. I consider myself a good weight because i seem to have a little meat, but not too much... It is all a matter of opinion as to what weight is beautiful, but do me, and all of society a favor, and dont be one of the people who contributes to anorexia and bulemia... You are beautiful just as you are...

I don't think most of those girls are beautiful. Most of them look creapy. Plus they are mostly really young and will get bigger. Most cultures don't like skinny women. I used to be over weight and hot European men loved me. I have lost weight now but I ain't skinny, but guys stare and act like idiots around me. I weight 170 and have a huge ego. I don't even think that many north american guys want a bone rack, I think they date bone racks because they think they should.

Being beautiful is not about being skinny. Beautiful is more about what kind of person you are. As long as you're not dealing with a shallow person.

apparently some people are that shallow. But in all reality, you don't have to be that skinny to be beautiful. And it's really sad that we're teaching our young kids that you have to be like that to be considered beautiful. It's no wonder that they have eating disorders.

I don't feel that you have to be terribly skinny. There is a point where a person can become too fat, but it has to be a ways past what is considered a person's "ideal weight". That's just my oppinion though.

No. And if they do think that people should be unhealthy in the service of some idiotic ideal of beauty, you don't need their approval. Be yourself. Don't be obese and don't be anorexic. Eat healthy food and have an active life and healthy people will be attracted to you. Cosmo's wrong.
