write someone who was your best friend in middle school that is now in prison. She has a drug problem, stealing problem and god who knows what else. I feel bad for her but at the same time i just want to ask what in the hell is her problem. I need advice please because i'm not sure if i should support her or disown her.

i wrote a letter already but nothing shows that i care for her. I just want to know what's wrong with her. i don't know if i would be any help to her situation because i'm not very supportive to people and their mistakes.

Absolutely not. People end up in prison because they are bad. Bad as in evil. Whomever your friend was before, she isn't that person now. Now, she is someone that it would be extremely wise to avoid. She will hurt you, given the chance.

So who among us had not had issues or problems at times. Some of us take them to extremes but none of us are angels.

So what is the downside of dropping her a line? You could find out from the first response about her state of mind. Maybe she needs someone in her corner and can't seem to find anyone who cares?

On the other hand maybe she is exactly what others think she is. If she is you don't have to write back. And face it; she isn't coming to find you for a while.

People in situations like that like to hear from old friends. Maybe she is like that because she thinks no one cares for her. If she knows that there is someone out there who cares about her, that could change her mind set on things. Write her, you could make a difference in her life.

If she is my best friend, I will try my best to bring her to the right path.
So, go ahead . May God be with you.
