Unless you get a wireless system you will have to run a wire from the doorbell to the button which means drilling holes and trying to figure out how to snake the wire through the walls. Go for the wireless system!

Usually you'd put screws through the holes in the doorbell.

We had a wireless one and used the sticky pad it came with to attach it to the uPVC door frame. After six months it fell off and someone nicked it! I have a replacement waiting which I'm going to screw into the mortar between two bricks (using a Rawlplug). Of course, I'll need to drill the hole first.
