I mean once the "i don't want to be with you" bit is over. Moving on,losing a friend, dealing with the rejection, something else? For me it's losing a friend,i hate that part.

Well I was only ever really crushed when it was my 'first love' when I found he was seeing someone else I'll admit I was jealous and stomped around claiming: 'I bet she's not better than me though'!!!

Having said that, he was going to cheat on her with me but I put a stop to that thought so he can't love her that much and also shows what a git he really is.

If this was a mutual decision and there are no hard feelings..... Then maybe friendship is an option. Have you spoke with him about this? He may be feeling the same loss. Some people are not meant to be together in a romantic relationship but make wonderful friends to one another. Don't be afraid to talk to him honestly about your feelings. Be sure he knows it is not an attempt to get back together on an intimate level but that you care for him as a person and miss his friendship. I have an ex that I still get along with really well and I know if I ever needed a friend he would be there. There is no jealousy between us. We even confide in one another about relationship problems. Good luck. I hope things work out.

The hardest thing is looking at the positive aspect of breaking up - things like:
You've stopped hurting each other
You can start being yourself again
You can reflect on what went wrong and improve for the next time.

Most people will dwell on what they had in the past. When you let go completely and start loving yourself again, people will naturally start coming into your life who are happy and positive and... you never know - the perfect one for you!

When my ex and i broke up after 5 years the hardest thing for me was moving on but with pray and i mean lots of prayer i was able to do so. i mean everytime i try to date someone new i felt like i was comparing my ex to the new guy and no of them measure up to my ex so i decide that being single for a while was the best thing for me and now i'm very happy in my new relationship.

Hi i think the hardest is losing one of your best friends and not having them there beside you anymore, you tend to miss them like crazy also the tears and never wanting to get out of bed, coz you cant face the day without them.

Well if u love him then its best u really think about it, but if u dont then the best thing is to break up with him but the hardest thing of breaking up would have to be that u wont see him and everything u were use to doing with him wont be there anymore.

The hardest part of breaking up - the person you love is your first thought in the morning and your last thought at night.

Its filling the whole that is left behind where that person used to be. Its the knowledge that all the plans you made for the future now dont include them. Its a black whole that needs to be filled.
