They both may be right.

Materazzi didn't exclude he didn't insult his sister.

He may have told him "son of a b****" though, but that's so common that nobody takes it too personally anymore.

Who knows!!! They sound like two kindergarten kids ;-)

Materazzi is lying. He is prone to such things. check his league record. He's one of Italy's most dirtiest players. When Zizou head-butted him, I knew something foul had gone out of his mouth. I didn't have to wait for Zidane to say and clarify. It was understood that if Zizou would do something like that, Marco definatly sid something bad!

Materazzi says he said nothing about his mom, so he confesses saying about his sis!!! If he said something about sis, no reason to believe he'd say nothing about mom!!

Zidane is lying...well not necessarily lying...he just isn't not telling the "whole" truth...Materazzi said he would like to take the shirt of his sister...Zidane would not repeat what was said...Materazzi has also said that he would never insult a mother as she is sacred...he lost his mom when he was 14...if he did say son of a whore..."figlio di puttana"...that vulgar verbage is used in Italy...of course it is an insult however there are loads of vulgarities that are used on the field...give it up!

I think Materazzi is lying. Zidane wouldn't have reacted if his mum hadn't been brought into discussion. Everyone knows that if you tell Zizou something bad about his mum, you are in great trouble..

Wow...I didn't realize how cultures can be so different sometimes when it comes to sports. This stuff and stuff worse than this is said on the National Football Fields and National Basketall Association court here in America. So Materazzi said something mean about Zidane's sister and mother. WHO CARES....grow up, he was trying to get under your skin and he succeeded.

in some countries it's a common curse to insult mothers and sisters and then think nothing about it,specially mediterranean countries,i think ANYWAY that Zidane over reacted,he should be used to hear such insults all over the place.

Materazzi.
He is known for such behavior as well as racist insults and foul play on the field. No reason whatsoever to believe that guy, ever...
He is such a ticking bomb that no one in Italy not one sponsor, not one ad agency would endorse him.
