i have a qh gelding 18 yrs old
he is used lightly in lessons he is blind in his right eye and has heaves.

any suggestions, i have him on cough free right now and he seems ok.

any other suggestions?

It has been my experience that horses (like most other animals) respond and adapt well to being single sighted. Of course my expectations of the animal will decrease to within its capabilities. But heave medicine if effective keeps the horse comfortable. Sounds like you've done well. Look for signs of sickness, droopy eyes, loss of weight and slow labored movement. Good luck. Stew

Well, if you have him on something and seems okay... then what do you want me to suggest?? I dont think people know how to cure blindness yet... not on the everyday market anyways... so... if the coughing has calmed down, then good job!! You have answered your own question.
