I can't figure out if people don't recognize sarcasm or if its just that it's typed out and doens't have any voice inflections.

Maybe people are just too intelligent for sarcasm...or maybe people are trying to be more sincere...or maybe an alien space ship landed and took all the sarcasm away to a place where it can't hurt anyone anymore. I mean, we are all just so good with our language that if there was any way to write sarcastically, we would find it, now wouldn't we?
Personally, I'm more the ironic, cynical type.

I wrote the book on sarcasm, but I have to admit, unless you put in lots of hints and special characters, it does not translate well on the computer. Sarcasm works best in person :-))

I think sarcasm is all to alive and well and its something we could do well without. Does one really want to go through life with a cloud like that on their shoulder?

I definitely do not think sarcasm has been lost. I use it every day....it is my life. I do not think it is easy to understand over the computer.
