no. he earned the award, and he should keep it.

That headbut did more to publicize the sport than the world cup did.

Alot of people that did not like soccer saw Zidane do that and gained more respect for the toughness that soccer requires.

Is'nt there a saying there is no such thing as bad publicity. The person he hurt most is himself, knowing that he could have possibly won the world cup for his country if he was still on the field during the penalty kicks.

yes. "best players" do not harm other players. if he has resort to physically harming materizzi merely because of an exchange of insults, then he does not deserve it. he may have a record of scores in the world cup, but evidently doesnt have the mentality to back it up. instead of headbutting materizzi (as mature as it was) as "paying him back", he shouldve just defeated the italian team and took the cup home. success is the best revenge.

YES
YES YES YES
Besides how was hhe the best player.
An amazing game against Brazil.
A decent game against Portugal (pretty good actually) decent game against Italy.
A goal scored against Spain in the closing minutes and nothing else the whole game.,
And nothing absolutely nothing during qualifiers.
And he is a disgrace.

No...whatever happened at the finals does not discount his apparent amazing skills and abilities as a soccer player...FIFA should not be so cruel...

No, absolutely not. Just because he head-butted some guy out of anger for something the guy said to him, does not mean he was any less of a great player.
