When helicopter left the surface of the earth it has 2 velocity component. One perpendicular to the earths surface which causes it to raise. The other is the earths rotational speed. Helicopter inherited this velocity that is tangential to the surface.
Due to this velocity component the helicopter follows the helipad.

There are other minor factors as stated by others. But the above 2 velocity components are the scientific reason

To hover over one spot means to stay above one spot. If it were to move to another spot it would be drifting not hovering. even with a strong wind the pilkot can still hover ov er one spot.

In short the helicopter has a pilot.

Because earth's atmosphere is moving with it.
