Bear in mind that I am a Republican, and I support the war.
No, Iraq didn't have a DIRECT role in the 9/11 attacks, as far as we know. Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden didn't really get along too well, either. But they both certainly hated America more than they disliked each other. The fact that they had common enemy allowed for an uneasy, but real, relationship between them. The true nature of their cooperation isn't really known. Intelligence documents recovered from government buildings during the invasion in 2003 listed meetings between Al-Qaida operatives and Iraqi intelligence agents. What they discussed or planned during those meetings is still unknown. Saddam was known to support terrorism in Israel, so it's not inconceivable that he would assist Al-Qaida in an attacking the US. The fact of the matter is, Saddam was a brutal, vicious despot, and a destabilizing presence in the region. Everyone is much better off now that he is a has-been.

Yes I do! I saw the terrible things that the Al Qaeda and Taliban committed in Afghanistan. I was a civilian military contractor over there for K.B.R. for the term of 1 year.
While I was in Afghanistan, links were established between Saddam, and those terrorist groups mentioned above. Saddam had the financial where with all to do it, and although there is no concrete proof, I suspect that he had some say in the planning of 9/11,

Categorically, no! As an occasional reader of ' Foreign Affairs' , and all of Thomas Friedman's books, it has long been known that Bin Laden is Saudi and actually had an antagonistic relationship with Saddam. Bin Laden wants the Saudi Royal family and the U.S. (who he believes is in collusion with them - and we are) out of his country. The Royal family is corrupt, we are only there for the oil and it's a mess made even worse by our invasion of Iraq. I was in the Middle East last year (Qatar) and never felt safer. The Emir of Qatar does not want to end up like Saudi Arabia, so he is putting all of the countries riches back into the people and country. I plan on visiting again and also seeing Dubai. It is a fascinating part of the world and the people were so warm and welcoming.

Indirectly, no. Certain actions of Saddam (i.e. Kuwait) forced military action in Iraq in the nineties. Extremists like Al Qaeda used that and the coalition's lingering military presence in Saudi Arabia as propaganda. "See the heathens patrolling the no fly zones in Iraq? Soon they will be controlling all Muslims!" Saddam gave Al Qaeda plenty of excuses and dubious injuries to hate the United States.

Could be
A quick check of Iraq newspapers shows that an attack occurred on a Jewish owned building in Baghdad on Sept 11 2001
Since Saddam was the official president of Iraq at that time he could be (with a stretch) responsible.
My guess would be it was a typical Muslem hate crime aginst Jews.

Right now, through interrigation and searches, no one in the goverment has found links linking sadam to the 911 attacks. The country that backed them was Saudi Arabia. Sadam is in Iraq. I do not think he had anything to do with it. None of the hijacker was a native to Iraq. Sadam and Al Qaeda are to completely different things.

No, he was too westernized himself. Most of the muslim countries despised him for it. Matter of fact during his trial they played tapes from 2000 where he was telling his cabinet that he repeatidly has been warning the US they are going to be attacked in a big way. He kept saying he has warned and warned the US but the US is not listening. He said when the US gets attacked he did not want the US to think it was him.
This was the smoking gun that proved that Iraq was not involved in any way with 9/11.

No I don't think Sadaam had anything to do with 9/11. Both Osama Bin Laden and Sadaam are from different muslim sects. Therefore them having an allegiance would be highly unlikely.

I don't believe that they played a material role in that specific attack, but I do believe that Iraq (under Saddam's "leadership") harbored and sponsored Al Qaeda terrorist. They allowed them to operate within Iraqi borders for training, etc. and shielded them.

Yes! Someone thought that plan out thoroughly, I think he was the mastermind behind it! They may not have come up with the exact day (911) but they knew exactly where to hit those buildings! Also what buildings to attack and what time!
