If you are talking of public speaking, then keep the speech simple, and easy to understand. Add a few rib-ticklers, and under no circumstances run down any sect or faith or nation or person or way of life. The content should be interesting to the audience.
There are good books on public speaking available in most countries, check them up in a library close by for tips.
All the best!

Make it theatrical. There is a "theater" element to public speaking, and most beginners lack that element and end up delivering dry, boring, monotone speeches.
In terms of delivery, think in terms of talking like an announcer for a used car commercial: "Come on down to Big Bob's Used Car Lot and see the BARGAINS!!!" You really do need an exagerrated level of enthusiasm and emotion. Also, insert lots of pauses. Build a little drama by taking your time in the delivery. Also, pauses let your audience digest what you're saying.
In terms of text, try to deliver the material in digestible chunks (easy modules of information). Mix in some anecdotes to sweeten the mix, if you're up to it. And use visual aids (a slide presentation, charts on a blackboard) to make it more of a circus.
You really do have to work to keep the audience's attention. So throw every gimmick in the world into your speech. The more, the better.
Good luck!

Public speaking is an art and requires practice. It is normal for people to be nervous when they speak before a large audience. One step which can minimize that stage fright is to take a deep breath as you stand in front of your audience, look around them and then slowly begin to speak. Once you establish a rapport with your listeners doing so, you give them a good impression and what follows after that will become pretty natural even if what you want to say does not have any substantial substance!

First, know the COMPOSTION of the speech. Know that a speech, must contain 10% Introduction, 80% Body, and 10% Conclusion. Start with something to catch their attention, like a good clean joke, to lead into the Intro, and GO!
You btter not be John Kerry!

Make eye contact every now and then so that you are interacting, you can use some hand movements. Don't be monotonous, be excited with your speech. Keep it brief and to the point always. Noone wants to hear long drawn out details that are not necessary to get the point across. Don't kill yourself trying to be funny, just be real, funny is not for everyonem (unless you think ur good at it). Speak up so everyone can hear you!

Practice by looking in the mirror. Our body language and facial expressions are sometimes not conducive to our mindsets. Sometimes they take on displays we're unaware of that seem to portray just the opposite of what we're actually feeling or talking about.
Try not to use a lot of ummm's when talking. If it's possible get your audience to interact or participate. Remember voice modality and inflection is important. Don't drone on, change the rhythm and tone of your voice.
Smile and enjoy what you're talking about. If you're not interested they won't be either.
Peace Out.

Jesus Christ loves you and I do to. The KJV of the Holy Bible in The Gospel according to John 3:16
says:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Please get a King James Version of the Holy Bible and start reading John 1:1 and read and pray that God through the Holy Spirit will reveal the TRUTH to you.
God Bless You is My Prayer,
David

Make good use of vocabularies, Jokes, and also the characteristics of oral literature. You should be able to elaborate your points using simple life events as examples. Avoid long stories and give plaudits to those who deserve it. Be sensitive about the people that you are talking to you might make a joke that will reflect wrongly on certain races, religions, creeds or cultures. Figurative language is also one of the best to chip in and make good use of your body language.

One of the most important things is to speak quite slowly, when people get excited, angry or nervous they tend to speak too quickly, There's loads of help on the following site - I found it best to browse round all the pages.

Articulate your words. Use the proper vocabulary. Stand up straight. Speak with conviction. Read more books.
That should help some but don't expect any miracles.
