It all narrows down to confidence. Many times light skinned women are praised by her family and friends because they resemble European women therefore having a high self esteem and they have more confidence. A lot of our dark skinned sisters were put down by family and friends because of their dark skin and did not resemble features of a European woman. Sometimes many of African Americans were taught to hate and look at themselves as unattractive and other races were more beautiful. Some light skinned women have more confidence in themselves than dark skinned women because they were praised and have higher self esteems. Men are attracted to the women that expel more confidence not the color of their skin. I know a lot of dark skinned women that pull more men than a light skinned woman because they love them self and have more confidence.

At the risk of sounding like a male chauvinist pig...
a babe... is a babe... is a babe... *grin*
whatever the color, I dig 'em all...
but maybe I notice blonds more because they stick out in a crowd or something... They certainly use them a lot in advertising
so there might be some subliminal stuff going on there, but hey! I'm too shallow for subliminal... I'm all surface and no depth.
Black women have some very appealing features... not that I would notice or ever become obssessed with their EXTREMELY nice derrieres and luscious lips... because I try to be an 'equal opportunity' kind of guy *LOL*
East Indian women have WONDERFUL eyes! And they are very dark skinned as well...
I don't know.. don't get me started thinking about it... I'll go crazy...

Not all men. So you should have said why are some. It just boils down to a matter of preference. Just like some men like tall & others like short, slim, big,blond, red and etc. Sweetie be confident in who you are as a person and never let anyone make you feel less than perfect.

I think culture and individual taste has largely to with men liking light-skinned or dark-skinned women.

i think light skinned men are, but dark skinned men like dark skinned women. But there are some promiscuous boys out there lol

it depends on the guy...altho now its the trend for black men to hook up with "snow bunnies" so it may just be that. they may also be attracted to the contrast

That is not true. My husband is white but he does not discriminate when it comes to attractive African-Americans.

I don't think they are. Some individuals might be, but as a whole, that's silly.
