I hate to admit it, but I have had negative thoughts about certain ethnic groups and I don't like it when I do it but it seems a tendency for many people. Do most people simply have a subconscious inclination to feel their particular ethnic/racial/national group is better than all the others? I really don't want to a prejudiced person and I irritate myself whenever I have a prejudiced thought or feeling. I wonder if any of you feel like I do. Be honest, I think most people have prejudices but don't want to admit it. But admission that there IS a problem is the first step toward solving it.

First of all we have to keep an open mind and accept everyone's faults as noone is perfect. Yes, I have also got prejudices and try to reason myself and see things in a different angle. This has helped.

I agree with you. I just asked a question similare if you want to look it up. It seems like certain races of people are seen in a certain light. They only have a first impression to break the sterotype. If they fail thats how we look at them. It's sad.

I absolutely agree, I really try to remain neutral in these things but I know that I will have negative thoughts as well. Just the fact that we recognize this as negative is more than progress, it is corrective in itself. Nothing angers me more than people making racist comments on here also, I try to confront them in an effective way rather than just slamming them, which is what I would really like to do.

I'm with you. i hate it but racial prejudice does sneak up on me when I'm not looking. what can we do? stamp it out whenever we find it in ourselves. if everyone did that, it wouldn't exist for much longer.
