I need some time for myself before I breakdown. I decided to take a Monday off with prior notice. I cannot say I need time to myself, they don't understand my situation. What would be a better reason.
Remember, I will be filling out a vacation form so it can't be "my car broke down."
Any ideas?

I'm not going to breakdown b/c of work, it's b/c of other family and personal issues.

Well if it's because of family/stress/personal isues then u should try seing a counsler and then get a doctors note sayin u need a day off. If you don't wanna bring in ur personal life with your work then u should say that someone in ur family is havin a wedding. I agree with u that u shouldn't say i need a personal day because that may make him think that ur emotionally drianed too much to do a good job at work. Any event should work for a vacation day... good luck

maximum operating human beings do not take all of their holidays days, yet no longer for that reason. the easy reason is that maximum paid vacation time 'consists of over' right into a monetary company. that's strong to have vacation days contained in the monetary company in case you do want them. yet you could guess that no matter if that is stumble on it or lose it, the vast majority will use it. no longer a lot with unwell days. unwell days are lost time (holidays at the instantaneous are not). So each and every unwell day you're taking is definitely a mark that ought to placed you decrease on the totem pole even as it is composed of artwork force cheap charges or layoffs.

I agree, say you just need a personal day. But honestly, if you feel like you are going to breakdown, then maybe you need to find a new job on your day off. If you're not happy and you keep wanting to take days off, then maybe you need to find a place where you can work that will make you happy. Good luck!

If Personal Day doesn't work then you gotta make something up, unfortunately. How about a death or something?
i'm sorry, i know that's terrible.
Say you've got the flu or something. if you're about to breakdown it's not entirely a lie. 24 hour flu?
What about a doctor or dentist appointment? You could always use your period as an excuse, make something up but don't make it sound too outlandish. be creative tho. good luck

Think of paid vacation as part of your paycheck. You are owed it and deserve it. Assuming you have time coming to you, they do not need to know the reason, and have no right to ask. If your new, uptight boss insists, tell him/her you need to talk to Human Resources first. No Human Resources dept? You have made personal plans... Take a that day! Take two days!

Don't give them a real reason. Just say you need the day off for an "appointment". You are not obligated to tell them what the "appointment" is for. Just say it'll take all day. If they ask, say you're not comfortable discussing it. If they still press, keep your confidence and keep denying to tell them. Just say it's personal, and it's not something you want to discuss, but it's very important that you go to this "appointment"

If you don't need the form today go to the doctor and tell him you're stressed. Stress leave is a perfectly fine and legal reason take a day or two or month off.

You're going to breakdown? Maybe a change of companies is in order..
Otherwise, try "someone in the family is sick."
