Here's the correct answer. If it's only gray smoke, that means you are burning oil,due to worn piston rings, etc.. If it is indeed white smoke, that means that somehow you have developed an internal coolant leak. Check your oil...I'll wager it is a milky color, which means that you have antifreeze in the oil. This means most likely a blown head gasket, but could also mean a cracked or warped head, or in the worst case, a crack in the block itself. The fix ranges from replacing the blown gasket to replacing the head assembly, or in the worst case, a new engine eventually. None are overly cheap. Things like this happen from over-revving the engine on a regular basis...racing, things like that. A Mirage isn't built for that.
The black deposits are an indication of the car running too rich...that is, too much fuel, not enough air. This could involve something as simple as a plugged air filter, or you might need to have the fuel delivery system (injectors, etc) cleaned and then adjust to the right idle settings, etc.
Hope this helped.

This is something very hard for everyone involved, I also have children so to think about this pains me and I hope I never have to make the choice. The best that I can say is to tell your son to just give it some time and see how it all works out, tell him that if it for some reason doesn't workout then he can come live with you again, I know this would make things hard for you but in the end I know your not going to stand there and tell your own son hes not welcome to come back, new husband or not, its just something parents don't do. I think personally he needs to be with his dad, not saying your a bad parent, I'm saying this because maybe it will help him see life different and make him more responsible and if hes going to school he needs a way there and back, it also don't hurt to live with old dad for awhile and give mom a break. I wish the very best for the outcome of this and your family, I think in the end it will all workout, its just going to take time.

The black smoke indicates that your engine is running rich, meaning too much gas is being injected. That isn't good for your catalytic convertor and builds up deposits in your engine. So you need to have a shop technician hook up a "scanner" to your OBD-II computer interface to see why your engine is running too rich.

Sounds like a seal that is leaking water from the radiator into the engine.

Not good, dude. After my Prelude did that, I found out I blew a head gasket. Get it looked at before you drive it any where else.

Sounds like piston rings or valve seats, or maybe a head gasket. Have your mechanic take a look at it.
