I don't know about quiet, but here are a few suggestions:

Studio City - Jerry's Deli
Toluca Lake - Pattys
Chatsworth/Northridge - Brents Deli
Santa Monica - Fromins Deli

Il Fornaio in Beverly Hills is an italian restaurant which has a fabulous brunch menu. I had breakfast there every time I closed a deal while I worked in Beverly Hills as a reward. Very good.

Marmalade Cafe on Ventura Blvd. between Van Nuys and Sepulveda Blvds.
Or possibly, Sportsman's Lodge on Ventura/Coldwater for brunch.

There's also a nice restaurant with an old-fashioned airplane type theme (hard to describe) near the Van Nuys airport area, but I don't recall the name. GREAT brunch there, though.

Not too far from Beverly HIlls:

John O'Groat's, on Pico east of Overland. See review:

Its more homey than elegant, though -- but the best breakfast in town. If you want more elegance, try the Four Seasons in Beverly HIlls. Their brunch is well-known, but the simpler breakfasts are good too.

A little more upscale than the suggestions above would be Marmalade Cafe. I think they're in Sherman Oaks or Encino.

the absolute best breakfast in Sherman Oaks is Twains on ventura and coldwater, Jinky's is okay too crowded for me though

I'm with UncleNeal on this one...Jerry's Deli on Ventura Blvd is da BOMB!!!

Or, if you are in downtown LA, go to the Pantry...Lancers when in Burbank!

Bon Appetite!
