Hexador, I did not say I heard anything from the news media.
Frankly I watch little main stream news.
News Media, to me is a euphemism. They don't report the news, what they do is...well anyway, I'm not going on that rant here.
No! I did not hear it on the news. I just hear people talking about it which I find to be cruel.

Unfortnately, the media in the United States has done a good job of desensitizing its veiwers... Yes, me included. I must admit that when I heard of the bombing, I felt sorrow, but at the same time, I forgot about it probably within sixty seconds of hearing the news. We just hear too much of death and mass killings. Especially with the war going on. The only shred of compassion the American people are expected to feel is if someone for is if a U.S. soldier dies, but even that sentiment is wearing off. Now, as for the jokes... I believe it is only becuase some people from a South East Asian country... Somehow, people feel that it is okay to rejoyce in the sorrow of the people from this region. I know for a fact that if those same people who are telling the jokes had one of their family members killed in a bombing, it would be seen as absurd to utter a joke about that. I guess in short, my answer would be: becuase they don't care to understand how it would feel to be in the other person's situation.

Some people are just tacky. And some people can't put themselves into the shoes of others....there but for the grace of God.....and I think that some people just don't know how to handle the pain of such a tragic event and can't think of any other way to deal. (Just trying to give somebody the benefit of the doubt...) But jokes at the expense of the pain of others is shameful, I agree.

Some people cant cope with or comprehend the horrors that are happening to innocent people today in all parts of the world. So they cover up their own fear of survival and the fragility of life by using humor. No matter how tasteless
