How do you think religious terrorism could be stopped?

Will there be a day without wars? Will there be a day everyone having their own right to follow their own religion. Respect for the faith of others, atheist or theist of any belief. How can we stop religious terrorism?

Cara, the war in Kashmir isnt just because of Hindus. Most of us Hindus havent gone on war on the name of religion.

When people will understand that religion and terrorism donot exist in the same breath.
There does not exist a religion on this entire planet that says - terrorize. Terrorism is for the weak and fearful, for people with of understanding and it is for the people who do not use their own mental faculties but depend upon others to lead and guide them.
For people of true belief, true faith and true knowledge of any religion will not resort to any form of violence. And violence to others will tantamount to violence to oneself.

First, GuardianCy, yes, there are wars with Hindus and Buddhists. Look at Tibet and Kashmir.

Second, Religious terrorism is an effect of extreme beliefs. People are indoctrinated from their very infancy about what their religion says (whether it be true or not), and they know no other way, so they can do nothing but believe.

An end to religious terrorism would have to involve widespread comprehensive education of people. People need to learn history, science, and a complete set of facts about the world in general. In countries where people's access to information is resricted and they are forbidden from seeing the big picture, it is impossible for them to make valid informed choices about their lives.

There could be a day without wars, but that would involve very significant changes in public education worldwide and in government control of access to information.

With globalization! Thats the one of the positive things.. The only way to stop religious terrorism is by stopping religions like Christianism and Muslim. These are the only religions that push their people to violence. Have you ever heard of a war being held by Buddhists or Hindus? Dalai Lama and Ghandi dont act that way

Think of the wars and deaths suffered by mankind due to religion...
6 million killed by the Nazis because they were Jewish
Thousands dead in the Crusades
Catholics and Protestants killing each other in Northern Ireland
Muslim terrorists trying to kill everyone who isn't Muslim (or who isn't the "right" sort of Muslim)
Deaths and torture under the Spanish Inquisition
etc etc

And the biggest laugh is that all these religions claim to preach peace and love...

As long as religions teach people that (1) only theirs is correct and (2) people who worship other religions are the enemy of their god...

then you'll always have religious fanatics resorting to violence.

Unfortunately, that's the cornerstone of the major world religions.
