I have just been called by Walgreens for an interview for cashier position. Does anyone work there and could tell me approx the starting wage? I have about 8 years cashier experience/ Also, are there any other perks (profit-sharing, 401k, etc..)? This is a part time position.

When I worked at Wal-greens part time (several years ago) I started at 6.10 an hour. I was part time and (as with most part time positions) benefits were not available through the company.

Walgreens.... yet CVS has particularly stepped it up....they look very fancy whilst in comparison with wally-green-extensive. I basically dont like the concept that if i don't have a CVS card I dont get the low cost. Walgreens savings are available to all of us!

I used to be the assistant store manager for walgreens. Being a cashier sucks...Your manager acts like GOD (depending on your ASM EXA or SM personality) If you want to make good pay..then get a positionin pharmacyh as Pharmacy technician. . U fill out a form and send a copy of your HS Dipoloma. the Rx Tech licence is $40 but the company pays for it; or reimburse you. Starting pay is 9.75 per hour vs cashier at 6.80..If you are a Rx technician you are treated with respect cuz managers hates going to Rx. I like pharmacy though, I dont know why other managers hates going there. If you are a cashier good luck cuz u r treated like crap. Specially doing warehouse days. ALL Major benefits if you are full time for Profit / 401 and dental is 1 year service. Health is 90 days that is just prescription...NO vision...thats it...walgreens is a cheap cheap company....
