He's not gay. He's married to Kelly Preston, and they have a son named Jet.
And before people start saying that you can be gay and married, yes you can, however, many, many, many celebrities will leave that question open because of the publicity it generates.

First, I need to congratulate you for your open mindedness. That you want to get informed alone and that you want to raise an happy and healthy son is a great step ahead to actually realize your goal. He is very lucky to have a mom like you! As a bi man, I'd say teenage is difficult times because it's so confusing, especially with his testosterone raging through his veins. In most cases we don't really know who we are or what we really want and why so it's frustrating. The right thing to do is to let him figure this out by himself; as much as he may appear to seek to be told or helped out, don't. You can't tell him who he is. You can show that you love him though, no matter who he ends up to be. That may mean to show up out loud what you think of different sexual orientations; that it's alright and makes no difference to you. I remember my mom used to just smile and never imply that I'd be naturally straight. She's always imply that I could be straight, bi or gay. Example: (mom speaking) So, did you think about bringing a boy to your prom? Or maybe a girl? I want to meet them first!! ....when she actually didn't know for sure about my sexual orientation. I felt accepted.

I think he was displaying something we see rarely from a celebrity, a sense of humour.
AS someone pointed out he has had rumours his entire career, no matter what he does ( marry kelly preston) people still talk about him that way.
So what the hell, have some fun for a change...good for him to not take that type of thing too seriously.

Travolta has been rumored to be gay since he hit the scene in 1976!
Some guys have claimed to have been with him - maybe he did some experimenting, Who knows? I don't really care - I actually think it would make him more interesting if he had such a past..or even if he was currently bisexual.
