I'm looking for river front property for recreational use. Preferably in South Carolina. I've found dozens of web sites catering to large parcels or parcels already zoned and planned for community use. I'm more interested in recreational use where the land is still more or less primitive. Something in the 5 to 20 acres range.

Shopper and local newspaper classified ads are the best resource running. Choose an area you would be interested in and subscribe to the local newspaper. Contact the shoppers, such as the Thrifty Nickel, there also and ask for copies to be sent to you. Pay for the postage if you have to. It will be a small investment and tax deductible if you're planning a move or a business investment.

A Realtor. They have access to all the local MLS listings and are the first to find out.
