Desert Rose, you are one wise horticulturalist. My eyesight is failing me. They sure look like bananas. Could it be a cucumber tree?

He he he you're kidding, bananas are not trees, they're just leaves, with long extended stalks, and bananas don't leave for 40 years, they're annuals and once the banana blossom has come out, it will turn into fruit, and then the banana will die even if you don't cut it down, it will rot on its own. You can't put it back in a rt angle the heavy fruit will pull the trunk down so it always bends because of the heavy fruit.

I am surprised that it has lasted 40 years. Sad to say but it is time to buy a new one.
