I don't think there is such a place as a State where it's cheap to live. A Southern State might be at the top of the list... Mississippi or Alabama, perhaps. South Texas is cheap compared to other parts of the country. New Mexico, outside Albuquerque and Santa Fe is fairly cheap to live in because there are so many poor people there.

Not North Carolina, we have the highest gas tax in the country. I would guess Alaska.
