every little privacy that one might have, after tapping your phone and monitoring a person. It could happen to anyone. JUST ANYONE! Is this a free democratic country or some totalitorian regime? Are there some sinister reasons of doing this? Is the threat of terrorism being used to SACRE the public and create an atmosphere of FEAR. Is the government trying to brain wash the public like they did with the WMD in iraq? Is the government trying to create "cybogs" of ordinary people who will be living to pay for the many clandestine operations. Personally i think this is the ULTIMATE weapon to create an atmosphere of fear and then rule the mind and souls of the public? And i am not a commu! Just a guy who doesnt trust any news, or any politician. Could this be right?

I agree that this may be viewed as an attack on the basic human rights which most other Europeans are protected by, and it's under investigation as a breech of those rights by the European Union. You can also be held in custody for up to three months without being charged with an offence, under supposed anti-terrorism laws.
But during the 1980s in the UK it was estimated that one in four telephone lines was being tapped by intelligence agencies, and this was not common knowledge.
Terrorism is a serious matter, and in the midst of the media frenzy currently happening the government feels that there is a necessity to act and to be seen to act. But it seems odd to me that there is more public fear of terrorism now than there was when there was a concerted terrorist campaign against mainland Britain by the IRA in the 1970s and 1980s.
I don't think the laws themselves are too worrying, and I don't think that there's any conspiracy, but it does worry me that an innocent person may lose his/her career and livelihood through erroneously being held in custody for the full term and then released uncharged.

How lengthy do you imagine it will be beforehand asking this style of query receives you the label of 'enemy of the state'. i imagine that each and each human being this 'terrorism' stuff is made up. 9/11 stunned the life out of me, they knew who'd executed it, why that that they had executed it, the position they were, who replaced into on the planes (inspite of the actuality that maximum of them were chanced on alive and properly around the planet considering) the techniques that that they had used, their preparation and reported that who'd funded the operation replaced into of no significant importance interior days of the shape. HOW? No significant importance! garbage! I nevertheless won't be able to have self belief that individuals imagine that what we are being advised is genuine. it really is those in value who're doing those issues. they in basic terms imagine now that the interest "terrorist" could have a mystical result upon the inhabitants, and they are going to be allowed to do something that they prefer. regrettably, maximum folk do let them do something that they prefer. Realistically inspite of the actuality that, what option can we've? New Labour or Tory authorities, the activities may have got here about besides.

Just WHAT is it your afaid of???

The police and security in this country do a good job - They act on information. It is bound to happen at some point that the information they act upon, may not bee 100%
Accidents happen, mistakes happen - That is a fact of life.

But if you lead an honest life, then just what is is it your afraid of? If you bothered to make enquiries, I bet those 2 unfortunate guys (who you are no doubt referring to) were given apologies and no doubt financially reimbursed.

First of all, if they suspect you of terrorism they must have viable physical proof before stripping you of all your rights. (sounds nice doesn't it) Secondly, I think you are a little farfetched on the conspiracy theories, especially since there is absolutely no basis for any of them you mentioned. Common error could define the majority of it, as last I knew we were all still human, even the President.

I think that there has to be reasonable grounds for a person to be under surveillance and for them to be picked up. I don't think that there is a conspiracy theory when it comes to terrorism. It is a sad state of affairs that it is a reality and something needs to be done to protect us all.
