Cops are getting trigger happy with tasers. They are tasing children, older people, and even citizens that do minor things. Here is a videoclip of a woman being tased after a minor traffic stop. Tasers should be banned from law enforcement.

ONLY if the person that is being detained is threatening, whether it be physically, or verbally and not cooperating. It's better than pulling a gun wouldn't you agree? Police put their lives on the line every day. Yes some are corrupt, but not the majority. If people would just cooperate, it would go alot easier. All you have to say is that you want you lawyer, and go peacfully with the officer.

i think that tasers should be used only as a second-to-last resort. he should have used all other means, besides a gun, to get her out of the car first. i'm sure he could have just pulled her out, or used his baton or threatened pepper spray. some cops do tend to go straight for the taser before exhausting their less-painful resources, and i think that is wrong. in kentucky, they are REQUIRED to use everything else first, before the taser. (that's what a cop friend told me.)

By my count, I heard him tell her 6 times to put the phone down and/or step out of the vehicle.
She didn't even have the courtesy to hang up her cell phone!?
I thought he was pretty patient because I would not have told her twice. I do think however, that pepper spray would have been a safer option.

But I do agree that thsy are misused, and they police can get a little jumpy,
Even the bean bag rifles are not needed, but hey that s all easy to say when you have someone who is not following directions and you are all jacked up on coffee.

I think they should be used as a last resort... but people shouldn't be acting up in the first place.
