Leave him alone, they are jerks anyway, AND once they get older, they turn into the nerds! Fat, bald and poor, Believe me! I just went to my class reunion, and the geeks were so freakin hot and in the military! The popular ones were drunks!

popular guys are the worst to chase after, thay are conceited and big headed cuz they know all the girls want them! even if you did date it would last about 2 weeks cuz someone "better" would come along that would boost his ego even more, i wouldn't waste your time!

I would ask him if he wanted to hang out sometime ie movie,beach,pool,min-golf. He prolly would like to see what you look like so beach/pool would be good for him if your not that comfortable with your body movie mini-golf will work. If he enjoys himself he will call you to do it again if not then best look for somebody else.
