Why is it ok for Americans have to go to another country (usually a developing nation) to obtain life saving procedures?
Or are we all ok as long as Dick Cheney gets to have his Coloscopy at the finest hospitals?

I would suppose that the administration is more or less telling those who have no health care nor the ability to pay the exorbitant prices to move to any other western country. They all have health care which is delivered at a far lower cost per patient, with the same care level of care as the U.S.
Never mind the availability of emergency services in the U.S. All countries have that plus regular care.
We have read some comments on problems with health care in other countries by some people in the U.S. and please allow us to say that they do not know what the h---they're talking about but just voicing the propaganda of the H.M.O.'s

What does Dick Cheney have to do with where you go for medical treatment. That is your business and it is not up to the Federal Government to provide you with medical care or your dependents.
I will tell you why this administration does not pay for your insurance. It is the same reason why they don't buy your dresses or cars for you if you have money. You want the Government to pay for all your bills too while they are at it?
You are thinking back to the brainwashing Days of the Clinton's fantasy health care reform that never came to pass mostly because all the other democrats back pedaled when they saw how much it was going to cost which was 275 million a year for a worthless HMO plan that no one would use or support in the first place.
Go to some of these other countries that have socialized medicine and ask them how they like it. Most will tell you is stinks.

2nd of all canada does not have free health care or govt subsidized health care.. they have a lot higher taxes then we do.. so its a robin hood mentality .. steal from the rich and give to the poor.... why don;t we just go to a fully communist state while we are it......
The govt does not make money, they take money, so when the govt has to pay, we have to pay... what if I don't want health care, do i have to pay the higher taxes?
and I know for a fact that employees of pharma compnies make pretty good money , so why don't you practice what you preach and send me 12 months worth of health care $600 i'll take a check..... Let us see if you will do that.. I doubt it....

It's too bad that the American government will not provide a nationwide health care program, like the one we have in Canada. If you are hurt or dying, you will not be turned away. It doesn't matter if you are rich/poor, black/white, male/female or whatever. If you need help our hospitals will help you. It is unfortunate that the US works off of how much money you have. "Oh sorry Billy you can't have the liver transplant you need to live because you are 2000 short." It is sad.
As far as Dick Cheney goes, I'll give him a colonscopy..... I don't think he will enjoy it.
BTW Canada does not buy drugs from the States...you have it the other way around.

it is available to them. help yourselves. find govt. programs, get a private carrier, go to a free clinic, and stop asking for a handout! finding a govt program is fine - get a social worker at a hospital to help, but don't just sit around and say "everyone without coverage should just have it given to them". that is not trying to help yourself. the resources are there. i have never heard of going to an underdeveloped country for a procedure, unless you have the money to choose a specialist there. if you have a problem with dick Cheney having more money than you, tough! life is not fair. some people have more money. if you cannot accept that fact and the fact that those people can obviously obtain better care and better everything, you will have a long, sad life. this is the land of opportunity, not free sh#t.

I don't understand what you are asking. If they are on Government subsidies they have medical coverage. There are many that can afford insurance but don't. Since our Emergency Rooms are required by law to treat everyone that comes through their doors many just save their money and go this route. If you are suggesting that the government start taxing me to death by establishing another inept program full of waste, know that just isn't going to happen. If people are going outside the US, they are typically having procedures done that that are either illegal (not AMA approved) or they are saving a lot of money, such as in the case of cosmetic surgeries being done in south America. If you don't like the administration just say so, but your reasons are goofy.

After I was told I needed surgery to save my life I had to wait 5 years, then wait in line in the emergency room, then wait for the black people behind me to get waited on first. Then I was finally given my emergency surgery. I will never be the same. It can't all be fixed and work the way it did years ago. None of it was due to my behavior or a failure to act on my own behalf. But, from what I've heard, this is because I'm fat and lazy and stole land from the Indians or something.

Where in the Constitution is health care promised as a right?
America is the fall back country for the rich in countries with socialized medicine to come for basics like MRIs and more advanced surgeries. Doctors don't spend 10 years in studying to be paid as much as cops.

They have nothing to say nor do they care about the average American. We can rectify the situation when Hillary takes office in January of 2009, she will do the utmost in assuring that all American citizens have health insurance, it's a right not a privilege.

Bono says we're all filthy rich and should help "poverty" in other countries. Sounds like we still have problems right here. Where's Bono when it comes to health insurance in the US?
Our President, Congress, and so many other filthy rich "leaders" have insurance, so they don't worry about the silly little tax payers. If we told the president we had no bread to eat, he'd say for us to eat cake. They're too elite and out-of-touch with the reality of average Americans.

Why the class warfare? Why criticize Cheney? He didn't do anything to those people. Cheney earned enough money to afford health insurance, if you don't have it, go earn enough to buy it for yourself. Ever heard of personal responsibility? I know it is easier to just steal what you want from other people, but that doesn't mean it's right.
