I agree with everyone else. First, Bobby needs to resign, he has not done well in the last few years. I don't think the problem is their goalies it is their defencemen. They are too slow. The Flyers need to give up on the Broad Street Bullies hockey and get faster, skilled defencemen and that would help.

The best way Clarke can help the Flyers is to resign. For such a great leader on the ice he has done a pretty crappy job off of it. Seriously though, in this age of parody, it is hard trying to find the right fit for a team. As far as goalies go, what top quality goalies are availible? Hope for a good injury free year from Belfour? Talk Hasek out of retirement? Missed out on Luongo who probably would have given the Flyers the best chance. It will probably be easier to rebuild the defense than finding a goaltender to help get over the top. There are some great young players in Philly, get a great GM and players will follow. Good luck in 2006-07

I think sticking with Nittimaki is a safe bet for goaltending as a #1 at least during the regular season. This year proved that you can win it all if you have a hot goalie but that won't last over the course of a season. If you want a stretch, I just found out Fleury is on the restricted FA list from Pittsburgh.

To me, Hatcher showed he is too slow to play in the new NHL. How about Coliaccevo out of Toronto or Svoboda out of Dallas? They need to pick up a solid puck mover to replace Johnsson.

Bobby Clarke has traded away very good goalies in the past because every time they loose in the playoffs he uses the goalie as a scape goat. Maybe he should be looking at his slow defensemen. He is always trying to build his team with tough guys. Those days are over. Everyone is tough today and that does not scare any team once the playoffs start. The Rangers will have 10 more points than them next season. 07 standings: Rangers, Devils, Flyers, Islanders, Pittsburgh.

Bobby Clarke could eat the barrel of a gun, I don't know if it would help the Flyers, but it sure would be nice.
This is the same idiot, who chose Rob Zamuner over Mark Messier to represent Canada at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.
Good luck, like the other dude said, resigning is the best thing he could do.
I wouldn't put my money on Biron, I would think Nabokov or Toskala.

Hasn't this question been ongoing since about the 1990s? Boobie's an idiot period. No matter what he does he still thinks Broad Street Bullies' big is better is the way to go. Did he forget Bernie Parent was their goalie back then?

I like Niittymaki but why did Hitch play Chico R. Esche in the playoffs? After all, Niitty was in the Oly gold medal game that Feb. Why not go with the guy who is actually better?

I agree with all those who think Clarke's resignation would be the best thing for the team.

I just don't like his punk face and the way he treats people.

Look at he way he dumped Roger Neilson after Nielson first got cancer.

The guy has zero class.

Make a trade for a proven goalie, like Nabokov... or recruit one off the free agency list, like Hasek
