I have been having problems starting my 1995 toyota corolla DX. The guy that looked at it told us what we needed and replaced the spark plugs, distributor, distributor cap and the battery. When I turn the ignition it just clicks?? Does anyone have any idea what it could be???

As I said above we got a brand new battery and spark plugs and distributor cap so it shouldnt be those - we bought them ourselves this guy just put them in.

First off check the connections on the battery ( you did have it replaced , correct ? ) starter. Make sure they are tight and free of corrosion. The problem you are describing is generally a battery, starter or problems with the wires between the 2

That guy is an idiot. You don't have a distributor in a 1995 Corolla. You probably need a new battery. It sounds like yours is not strong enough to start the car. Put some jumper cable on it for a few mins and see if it starts normally. If it does, you know your problem.

You have burned contacts in the starter solenoid, a common problem. I replace the contacts for $50.00.
I doubt you can find the contacts, so you will have to replace either the entire stater, or just the solenoid.
When you get it off, open the plate on the soleniod. The contact where the + from the battery connects to will be eaten away by the plunger contact. The other contact won't be as bad, and probably can be re-used. I have welded these contacts back up and re-used them many times.

if its just clicking that means the battery is dead and the starter isn't getting enough power to turn the engine over, try to either jump start it or get another battery, if that doesn't work then its quite possible that its also your distributor cap and rotor, but try the battery first

The clicking sound is the starter solenoid trying to get power to the starter motor.
The reasons that it would click are that the solenoid is bad, or the wires going to or coming from the solenoid are bad, or the starter motor is bad.

Either he didn't do a good job . . or maybe you have a short in your electrical system that is draining the battery.. Either way take it back to him & have him look at it. He might have fixed it right & just didn't realize that another problem was happening. Or he doesn't know what's goin on . . you decide.

Dead battery, alternator, or bad starter selonoid. Could also be a poor cable connection.

check your starter. if you have sufficient power from your battery it should be firing. sometimes you'll need to tap it with a hammer, wrench, etc. to knock the brushes back into place if it's faulty. good luck!
