Well, despite what some of these other answers say. The Democratic party is not as corrupt and insane as the current GOP leadership. When and if the GOP removes the wacked out ultra right wing Christian fundamentalist, if would be good to vote for them again. If you look at history you will see that the two parties have seemed to flip flop views. While the GOP was originally for less federal government and the Dems were for more federal government (protecting the minorities from the majorities). It is now the other way around.

Your best bet if you want to change the corruption of your GOP is to totally vote against it in the next few elections. Hopefully this will moderate the party and allow them to focus on real legislation.

While you may not agree with the Democrats, they are not going to screw this country up anymore, most likely they will be able to change some of the international perception that we are becoming the Christian version of the Taliban and they will probably protect human rights much better.

This may bring about a total change to the GOP that allows the regular Americans to feel more confidant that they are not inviting religious zealots to run the country. One good step would be for Rudy Giuliani to side step his quest for the presidency and go for a position in the Senate that he might be able to reel in the other GOP senators. Then he should run on a moderate GOP platform for 2012.

I hope this clears it up.

GOP is def not what it used to be. Only vocal party members can change that. And the vote is the strongest voice you will have, unless you are ultra wealthy....that's another answer for another day

In the upcoming elections vote for the candidate, not the party. The parties today are so bad (Republicans trying to kiss the far rights you-know-what while the Democrats don't seem to stand for anything) that basing your vote on party affiliations alone is missing the point.

Hopefully there are good candidates running and hopefully people will look beyond their party affiliations and reward people who have good ideas, are honest and are willing to make hard choices.

(Yeah, even I have a hard time believing that there are more than a handful of those people running for office, but truly, reward the candidate, not the party.)

Just vote for the candidate who you would like to see most in office. This is coming from a liberal Democrat, but do parties really matter? The country suffers because parties disagree so much. If we all just voted for who would be best in office besides voting strict for the strict party, I'm sure this country wouldn't be as bad as it is today.

First of all, both parties are equally corrupt, so if this was meant at a slam on republicans, you are way off base.

That said, to be an informed voter, you should research each individual candidate to see which ones represent your views most accurately.

Then vote for them, regardless of party. At various times, I voted for and was actively campaigning for two democratic senators and a republican congressman from my state because they were good men and represented their constituencies well.

Also, don't generalize or stereotype, it shows a lack of thought and depth.

There are dozens of more reasons not to vote for anyone representing the far right in this country.

Do some serious research, read newspapers and stay away from Fox (Murdock) News.

I don't want to vote Democrat either for the same reasons. I am beginning to believe that there is no such thing as a good, honest politician! (It's hard to say good and honest in the same sentance with politician without laughing so hard as to pee one's pants!!!)

Use your vote to send a message:

You won't stand for rampant corruption and hypocrisy. Vote Democrat, and let's restore the country to sanity.

No one can tell you how to vote, voteing is personal and should be based upon what you feel, not what anyone else thinks.
