It is rare to find the stereotypical nitpicky, exacting, "clean freak" in modern-day Virgos. Although the sign of Virgo has evolved with the times, there are some unmistakable traits that remain. Virgo people are generally respectable, hard-working individuals who have a love of knowledge and know-how.

Virgo's symbol, the Virgin, shows itself in the lives of Virgos through a love of all that is "natural" and a certain purity of spirit that keeps Virgos self-sufficient and self-contained, at least on the surface. Virgos are sensitive to their surroundings, and they tend to embarrass easily. They are generally reticent when faced with anything or anyone new. Virgos is one of the analytical signs that need to process all the information they take in. Once processed it comes out labelled (normally called criticism) which is like breathing to Virgoans.

Being Earth signs they are practical and know what it takes to get things done in a practical way.

It's a mutable sign which gives them a flexible mind. If there's an hindrance, they will work out a good way get around it. Similar to Gemini they are ruled by Mercury which gives them the gift of the gob. They can be amazing imitators and when they open their mouth people do tend to listen.

Their eye for details and the urge to perfect or find perfection can be a life long quest, but their earthy mind do eventually settle for practical solutions, even tho not 100% perfect as they realise such a thing doesn't actually exist ;)

They are amazing at spotting the tiniest erros/details so make sure you get a Virgo to take a last look before you finish that project.

The challenge for Virgos can be to step back, and not focus only on a few details, to get the whole picture.

Several (you'd think I'd learn!) bad experiences of Virgoans myself so in addition to previous answerer - want what they cant have then dont want it when they've got it, perfectionist when it suits them, fast to criticise (ignoring their own faults of course), self centred, their way or no way - sure there are some very nice Virgoans out there I've just yet to meet them!!!
