If you want to get regular cable channels, you need a TV Tuner card in your pc, and cable tv service. Then you could get any channels the cable service provides.
Otherwise, there are internet radio channels and some special purpose video "channels" available directly from the internet.
But no regular video programming, just clips. And those don't even work well without high speed internet.

if you have a tv tuner car they covert your pc in basically a TV and the tv that you have plugged in is basically the monitor.
So if you connect your cable tv you are going to see the chancels that your local providers have available.
If you just connect the card to and antenna probably can get a few local channels.
And to maximize your experience you probably want to get a software to facilitate the navigation
Like Windows Media Center
Or is a free open source project named media portal
That basically do the same for free.

You would need the correct video card to do so, and yes you would need a cable company. Mostly people connect there computer to there tv to do
A) capture video from the tv or
B) extend the monitor to the tv

Yes, unless you have an antenna that picks up stations. Keep in mind though if the cable company has digital cable you have to connect the cable box to your PC in order to get the digital channels.

You only get what you pay for. Don't even think about stealing cable.
You can use internet based TV for free or small fee but you might not get the shows you want.

if you have tv card you get same channels you would normally get through the wire you plug in
if aerial then aerial channels etc

well to get cable tv u need a cable subscription.
