If most Americans think soccer is boring to watch on t.v., why do they watch poker on t.v.?

I'm American and I have never watched poker on t.v. One of the reasons that other people watch poker is that poker is on much more often than soccer. If ESPN would broadcast more soccer, more Americans would stop watching poker.

they are two separate things. I don't think Americans have an appreciation for soccer, no offense. Most poker on Tv is edited to show the big hands. If you could edit soccer to include the goals and the best plays, widdle it down to 30 minutes, maybe we'd watch.

I like both. The poker in all fairness is just highlights. They dont show every single hand. A better comparison is baseball and NAscar. I dont see how people can talk about how boring soccer is and be fans of those 2 sports.

I LOVE both soccer and poker
the thing with poker is that anybody can play
and the game is very appealing.
Soccer you need some skill to play to even a decent level.

I think soccer is the ultimate exciting sport. They get more injured that football players, more fights than hockey, and more EVERYTHING than baseball. I've never watched poker on TV, but if I had, I wouldn't be alive to answer this question.

Anyways, it's two different games involving different skills, rules, etc... Apples and oranges... some has a preference for physical games, some go for the intellectual ones. I don't believe that ALL Americans watch poker on TV, though.

Poker is much more interesting, but being a fad it woun't be on too much longer. We (well, a lot of us) weren't brought up on soccer therefore we don't have much interest in it. We do love Big Mac's, Corvettes, baseball and all that stuff we grew up with.

Americans say soccer is boring.Yet they manage to sit through Football(American)which lasts for 60 minutes but they manage to drag out for about 180.
