Proactiv works great but you have to try it as directed first and then change it a littl according to your skin. My skin is very sensitive and when I started to use it, it got irritated so I started using it every other day instead of every day and it worked great. Also, don't EVER wash your face with warm or hott water. ALWAYS use cold water because this will keep your pores closed and won't allow acne causing dirt to get in. Try a gentle exfoliator from Biore, they seem to work well and exfoliate to cleean your skin layers renewed.

Wash your face, twice a day, every day with a medicated wash. After you wash, apply an anti-acne ointment (clearsil is a good one) all over your face. It should get worse before it gets better (sucks, I know, but you have to get all the nasty stuff out first!) you should see better results in a couple of weeks. If after a month of doing this daily, go to the doctor to get a prescription.
Systems like Proactive work very well, if you don't have sensitive skin, but they are very expensive. Try the cheap way first, then see your doc. Insurance covers the prescriptions!
Good luck!

Nutrogena products work well.
Clinique works also but is much more costly.
To dry them up fast and take away redness use a peroxide based cream. Like Mary Kay acne solution or even over the counter creams are worth it. 5-10 % benzoile peroxide.

There is this cream and moisturizer thing at estee laudeer. It removes pimples and bumps on your face over night. All you have to do is put the lotion cream on when in the shower. After the shower you put the moisturizer on. Then when you wake up, wash your face and then your skin will be smooth and feel silky.

Sleep in an acne mask over night. Try Neutrogena products - they really work.

By keeping your face clean, keep hands and fingers nails away from your face. Also keep your hair washed daily. If this does not work call your doctor, he or she will put you on a med to help clear it up.
