I have been having tons of pain from my back to my stomach down through my pelvic area and legs. I had my OB appt. this morning and I'm 3.5 cm and 80% effaced. I had my "bloody show" yesterday and still having mucus coming out when I go to the bathroom. Could I really be in labor? With my first child, i was induced and never felt any contractions or pain until they broke my water. Please let me know..... Thanks....

Could it really be? it hurts sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. It's almost a constant pain. and when i breathe, it doesn't feel too good either.

my water hasn't broken. just mucus for a while.... i know to go to the hospital if my water broke. With my first pregnancy it was easy because when my water did break, thats when the contractions started. I have never felt like this. Its an odd kind of feeling....

Sounds like early labor. When you start having contractions, you will KNOW it! Once the contractions start coming more often (where you can actually count the number of minutes), start keeping track. Once you get to having contractions every 5 minutes (start timing from the beginning of one tightening to the start of the next tightening for about one hour, some tightenings feel harder or stronger than others) call the ob or go directly to the hospital (when the office is closed). Good luck and congrats!!!

Yes, it sounds like you are in labor, but don't rush to the hospital right away. It could still be a while yet. They usually say wait until the contractions are five minutes apart for about a half hour or until your water breaks. You should probably take this time to make sure you have everything you need and rest for delivery.

You could be having back labor... I went through the same thing at about 38 weeks. It really hurt to sit and to stand.I found the pain shooting up my spine and my lower back, and I did have some pain the the front but most of it came from my back. But I didn't end up having my son till about 3 weeks later. If I was you I would go to the doc's office just to be on the safe side.

It sounds liek it could be I lost my mucus plug at 35 1/2 weeks and went into labor 1 week later I felt the same thing you were describing I thought it was gas at first but as the day went on it became more constant and consistent. It sounds like you might want to go to the dr. You can take warm baths to help ease the discomfort and walk to help bring it on more so they will admit you other than that you sound like you might be on the way. 2nd babies come quicker so please becareful it never hurts ot go be checked.

Yep you are in what is called the latent stage of labor which is the first stages where it doesn't hurt alot. When you feel a change in intensity and frequency in the pains then head for the hospital. It doesn't hurt to call the hospital and ask them if they think you should come in. Walking can speed up the process.

You may be in early labor but who knows. You'll know when it's time to go to the hospital when you cant talk through contractions.
My water never broke with either of my kids so don't wait for that.

Sounds like it. Good luck to you.
Edited to add:
It definitely sounds like labor to me. I'd give your doctor/midwife a call to let them know things are happening, but there shouldn't be any rush to get to the hospital unless you feel you need to be there yet.

You need to try to time your pains. If you are in labor, and it sounds like you are,you need to contact the hospital.I lost my mucus plug 20 min. before I had my son.Have someone drive you to the hospital to be checked out or have an ambulence take you.Good Luck and Congrats!

yes it sounds to me like you are in early stages of labor, just keep timing the contractions and pain, and keep your doctor updated, and if you feel that uncomfortable go to the hospital, i know because i am on my 8th child...early labor can last a while though.. just keep relax and monitor yourself... and congratulations and good luck
