Dreams may have something to do with places you've visited, things you've done previously, or people and incidents that are on your mind. For example: I watched a movie on tv about zombies, "The Night of the Living Dead" or something. I went to bed and dreamed that zombies were trying to get my parents and I, we escaped. Dreams are only thoughts that we experience while we sleep whether they are good thoughts are bad thoughts. But dreams are difficult to remember sometimes. Oftentimes, bad dreams are the ones that are the easiest to remember. But dreams are hard to remember because we dream when we're unconscious or asleep which is when mental activity goes on. So it's hard to remember when we awake what we've daydreamed about or visioned in our sleep.

If find that if you 'tell' your subconscious to remember your dream, then you do just that as you wake after it has happened.

Affirm to your mind TONIGHT I DREAM, AND I REMEMBER MY DREAM as you drop off to sleep.

This was is very effective in helping you to remember your dreams; and sleep with a pen and paper beside your bed. Symbolically, you are also 'telling' your mind that you are ready to receive the message of the dream, remember it, and work out what it means.
