Yesterday the USA agreed that they were wrong to deny the prisoners at G Bay their right to a free trial.
1. Are Conservatives going to apologise for calling the likes of me. Dr Feelgood, Dd, and others Traitors and anti American for wanting America to maintain the Moral high ground?
2. Is the Bush administration finally coming to it's senses.

I watch Fox and looked on their website for a report and NONE. Surprising?

Only last week Bill O'Reilly was saying that it will never happen. Shows how informed he is.

Does your lack of reading comprehension ever bother you?

They are not getting a right to a trial - a right, in fact, they don't even have under the Conventions.

What they are doing is now making sure they comply with the Article III conventions governing the humane treatment of prisoners. Whether this will have any effect on their current practices of interrogations techniques, detention conditions or trial procedures is unclear. This is because the current techniques are not necessarily in violation of the Conventions.

The issue of military tribunals is a completely different topic and is currently being pursued by the administration.

So, tell me, is it painful being so stupid?

Apologise for? That just because the Supreme Court says they must be accorded certain rights, does it means all these men, will stand and proclaim they will never harm another soul in their life, they will never seek to attack the US?

And if the roles were reversed, if Saddam Hussein was the superpower and he captured US soldiers or combatants, do you think, he'd bother with the 1953 Geneva Convention, he'll torture them at every opportunity.

Only in the US, can be rest assured that the courts will stand up for your rights.

First... Fox News is the last place I go for accurate news. Try www.topix.net.

Second... I don't think the Bush Administration is capable of admitting they were wrong or unjustified.

Third... does it even matter at this point if the Bush Administration comes to their senses... so much damage has been done already. It feels hopeless.

Apologize? Hell no, it makes me pissed.

Those pieces of dirt being held there don't deserve a hot meal, let alone full GC protection.

Are our soldiers being given GC protections when they are captured? Why don't you ask the two poor souls who were filmed being trampled on in the street after being skinned and beheaded. You seriously expect me to apologize to you for not caring how the terrorists in Cuba are treated???!!

You're far more delusional than I or anyone else could have expected.

I still wonder how some of them may be war prisoners once they are caught not in a war zone? Imagine, if somebody catch you, keep closed for 2 years and then says that a war was announced against you. Every kidnapping may be proved being not a crime in this way...

No, I won't apologize. We aren't dealing with a military entity, we're dealing with regular people who follow a religion of hate. This new enemy requires innovative methods of detaining them. Just because they claim not to be terrorists, I don't believe them. Same as every person sitting in prison claims to be innocent.
